I dont know the significance of the big gray bar on top of the page where it blocks a portion of the page when the menu bar is coming out of auto hide -they could of made it semi transparent Hopefully they change that in the final release
I see how some might not like how it is handled. I guess my point was it was by design and is not a bug.

No Blu-Ray, as slot load would not be able to have enough cooling-leave it for next Mac Pro.
Combo drive disappears, and is now EDU only. All retail now have DVD burning as standard-like on the iMac. Core Duo on all 2 configs. Perhaps a air-cooled GPU with dedicated RAM for the best modfel.

Perhaps Microsoft should have a "switch" campaign like Apple for the Zune. Showing all the wonderful things like radio and squirting music and photos.
Radio, puhleeze. Isn't that why we have iPods? So we don't have to listen to crappy repetitive manufactured artist radio.
Squirting, huh? - I'll coin the term now. Zune Splooge™ - squirting a crappy song to my Zune.

Actually, after WW2 Japan kept the emperor, so they had "one god talking to another [MacArthur]" for a while.
"emperor" thanks I was having a hard time finding the right words on that one.
But he had previously NEVER appeared in public, too GODLY, he appeared in public so they saw that he was HUMAN !!!
Probably QUITE a disappointment.
There should be other examples from history though ...
Remember Gates took his last position just because the devisions were fighting with each other ENDLESSLY ?!?!!?!?
YES I can see it now, further and NASTY delays for Vista which continues to SLAM Dell, which in turn BOOSTs Apple.
Then Balmer MUST go, because all the premadana's at MS will blame him, THEY WILL ALL BE TO BLAME !
I learned early on in High School that a team of Supermen ALWAYS fail because they won't play as a team and constantly quit expecting winning to be EASY -- THIS IS MICROSOFT !!!
Then a new CEO will clean house and make a regular company out of it, but first he will have to DUMP Windows because support and WORTHLESS development will be draining too much money from the company, and by then the XBox will be profitable just by normal hardware cost drops.
Windows will be dumped by building a thin embeded version of Windows that will support Wind apps on a chip in other OSs and in a soft reduced Wind, MS will not disclose the cost of the chip but will claim big royalties from it to save face !!!
And of course computers will be QUITE AWESOMELY POWERFUL but Windows won't use it because it won't ship, and all the betas won't help much there won't be any progress on the code, too much infighting :D

WOW! "Think Secret" is really putting its reputation on the line by making this ("WWDC surprise: Apple to announce iTunes movie rentals" and Second-gen iPod nano on tap for August") two statements! What are the chances of Jobs announcing movie rentals and second-gen ipod nanos at WWDC (of all places) (in addition to 10.5 and MacPros)? But with Jobs, who knows what will be announced. "One more thing"... oh and wait just "One more thing"...

Did you try Command-Option-Control-Click?
Oops, that does not work my bad. At least for me. Glad I don't use Launchpad.

Tell that to the hundreds (at times over a thousand) reviewers who are raving about it.
Yeah, "terrible" my ass.
Doubters need to wrap their head around this new concept. They can start accepting this new paradigm for the standard setting phenomenon it is (and I don't mean the 3DS, LOL), or get left behind.
Touch controls for games built for buttons dont work. First review for Street fighter 4 iphone I see this.
Speaking of controls, Im sure many of you, like I, were wondering how it would be to perform special moves with touch screen controls. I have to admit it does pose a bit of a challenge to even seasoned fighting game veterans, but Capcom included an option that allows you to perform special moves with a simple press of a button.
Buttons will always be better for fighting games and fps games.

It was retrieved on 9.jan and it already contained Macbook Air entry, few days before the rumors came.
Basically the name Macbook Air seems to be real. Only thing is what stands behind that name. :)
Great detective work.

The price is slowing going up and up.
PC user who are considering switching is thinking they can buy a whole system for this price.
Apple should offer a $499 Mini for those who are short on money and for those who want to try a Mac for the first time.

The logical thing would to mirror the recent MBP refresh. I really dont think they would include USB 3.0 ports until Ivy Bridge.
It doesn't look like it according to the quote but he was referring to Ivy Bridge.

I like the name. It grabs my imagination immediately. Light as air. The Macworld banner says, 2008. Theres something in the air. Perhaps the tag is subtly suggesting something new inside the MacBook air - that being a flash drive.

But this IS Apple were talking about lol. Anyway the article doesnt mention which 1.66/1.83 chips they will use.
It says Core Duo. If we were talking about Merom, it would be Core 2 Duo.

Wireless "N"? psh, I'm still using "B".
It would be nice - in theory - to have a hyper-fast wireless connection; however, what does it matter if my outside line stays at 2M/512k speed? The B-spec is perfectly fine for quite some time.

Sony has assumed way too much control with Blueray, so if I'd have to pick either format I'd go with HD-DVD. Lets not forget Microsoft is backing HD-DVD on the X-Box 360. Last week when I was at the game store, they said the add-on drive would be coming soon for around $100. Thats alot less than a blueray player.
And how often have consoled that come in two parts been successful? Sega MegaCD, anyone (Genesis CD)? Developers won't be able to use the HD-DVD drive because they reduce their potential market, so it's just a player. Why not buy a decent stand alone (as soon as there are any - the Toshiba was slated in reviews).
Like I said, HD-DVD and Blueray both suck in my opinion, too many DRM controls, too expensive, not enough difference really over DVD for most people....
That's content owners for you - they'll always demand that. It doesn't mean you can't burn your own disc without rights management - backing up photos etc to 50Gb wouldn't be too bad. A lot easier than changing DVDs 6-12 times.
Given the drives are out there and Apple are supporting the format, there is no reason not to make the option available. In fact given Apple's customer base outside the rabid geek community, Blu-ray creation capabilities would seem the way to go (Blu-Ray Studio Pro?). At 650/$1000 it isn't even that high a percentage of the overall price of a higher spec machine. Macs aren't cheap.

OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE!!!
I remember when there was speculation about a 19" iMac being released (back in the g4 days or, as I call them, the Bad Ol' Days). There were some there that totally pooh-poohed the idea and predicted it would bite into sales of Powermacs. Didn't happened. I think the 23" is a natural evolution and will buy one as soon as my wife allows me to. (been working on my wheedling and whining).
Can't wait til the 12th.

Since Intel is releasing the 2.0 Ghz C2Q chip this week, it seems likely to find its way into an iTV and/or iMac device. That's four cores on the cheap.
Rocketman
Highly unlikely that the Quad chip will end up in the iTV. Especially at the already announced $299 proce point of iTV

I can't wait for a white 27" model with an additional rear facing camera to shoot HD video. 3G would be cool too.

Good. The classic controls are far superior IMO when using quickly and trying not to look at it. This is the reason I will not purchase an iPod touch for use in the car.

What do you mean by "G5"??? PowerPC is long gone from Macs.
I think he's [quite obviously] talking about the iMac G5 exterior (as opposed to the 'sunflower' iMac G4, or the original G3-based CRT iMac), the form factor, which didn't really change much from PPC to intel. He even mentioned the intel chip in his post, I think no small amount of pedantry is involved in the "???"s :)
